April’s Cheesemonger Tote is packed with discovery, including a special debut cheese from New Brunswick.

Spring is a time for fresh discoveries and this month’s Cheesemonger Tote is full of them! Sarah has been hard at work curating an extra special selection; we’re so excited to introduce a cheese that’s brand new to The Cheese Gallery – and our very first cheese from New Brunswick!

April’s tote is a celebration of craftsmanship, featuring cheeses that balance deep, savoury character with the promise of spring. This month, we’re also showcasing two fan favourites - Grey Owl and Niagara Gold - the finalists from our March Madness: Canadian Cheese Edition! Expect a mix of bold, aged richness and delicate textures—all handpicked to elevate your cheese experience.

Inside April’s Tote:
🧀 Seaweed Tomme* – our first-ever cheese from New Brunswick! This semi-firm tomme style cheese from Fromagerie Fond de Bois is wrapped in seaweed, giving it a unique savoury depth with a hint of the ocean's minerality.

🧀 Picobello* – this perfectly aged Dutch gouda is back as an exclusive this month! With it's notes of caramel and nuttiness, you'll learn why those who love it, love it!

🧀 Rock Star Cheddar – this cave-aged, powerfully savoury cheddar from Snowdonia Cheese Company in Wales is a staff favourite.

🧀 Grey Owl – a strikingly beautiful ash-ripened goat cheese with a tangy, complex flavour.
🧀 Niagara Gold – a washed-rind Ontario treasure, buttery and full of character from our friends at the Upper Canada Cheese Company.

THE IMPORTANT DETAILS:

The Cheesemonger Tote must be pre-ordered and is available to pick up every Friday. Please note that the first pick up will take place Saturday, April 5th as we are waiting on a cheese delivery which has been delayed by the ice storm. You can order in-store, by phone or online.

In the “Notes” section of your order, please indicate which Friday you will be picking up your order: Week 1 - April 5th; Week 2 - April 11; Week 3 April 18th and Week 4 - April 25th. There are very limited quantities available, so don’t delay in booking your tote now - we promise it will be worth it!

If you have been participating in our tote program and have a bag you would like to re-use: please let us know then bring it in to the shop and we will add it to our reuse tote program; as a thank you we will add something special to your bag in exchange.

As the Tote is a collection that has been carefully curated, there are no substitutions available, However a gluten free option (substituting a gluten free baguette for the regular one) is available for an additional $5. In the event you are looking for a meat free option, replacing the meat with an additional cheese of the cheesemonger’s choosing is an option!
