In the past, the Vacherin Fribourgeois used to be encircled with a band of spruce, but producers gradually forgot this traditional skill and replaced the band with gauze, which was easier and cheaper to fit. A Master Cheesemaker, in partnership with Fromagerie Moléson, has now revived this tradition. As a result, we have an authentic Vacherin Fribourgeois with a strong character. Slightly tart with a pleasant aroma. The paste is creamy, soft and delicate. The spruce band adds a woody aroma, coupled with the undeniable charm of yesteryear.
Vacherin Fribourgeois Sangle is the perfect winter cheese! This Swiss classic is wrapped in spruce bark, which gives it an earthy, slightly smokey aroma. It's washed with brine and has a deeply savory flavor and melt-in-your-mouth texture. It's great for snacking on a cheese board or mixed with equal parts Gruyère and melted into fondue.
