Raclette cheese is a semi-hard cheese which is used for melting and grilling; it is not intended to be eaten raw. The mild varieties have a characteristic pungency, so it is definitely a dish for cheese-lovers. Swiss raclette cheese has a nutty, slightly acidic and sweet taste that mellows when heated. Perfect for burgers, sandwiches, and a traiditonal raclette party. Pair with pickles, potatoes, prosciutto, or roasted root vegetables.
Raclette is served sliced unless otherwise indicated and sold by the per person portion (approx 200 grams).
